My First Post: Hello World!
Hello there! This is my first blog post on my site. To be honest, I’m not too sure what I should write about for my first post, but that’s the whole reason I wanted to start a blog: to get better at writing and documenting!

To be honest this is my first time hearing this quote, I was just looking for an image to put here. But it stuck with me more than I expected. Reflecting back on my school days, writing often felt like it was less about communicating clearly and more about sounding eloquent. A lot of the time (Not always shoutout Mr. Adams), it felt like we were encouraged to fluff up essays and papers just to hit a word count.
Most of my experience in K-12 has conditioned me, in a way, to hate writing. It always felt like a chore that was forced down upon me, which I didnt appreciate. But years later, I’ve found myself actually wanting to write and journal more. I’ve found that it helps me keep track of what’s going on in my life and gives me a way to come back and reflect on what I’ve done.
I feel that writing and being able to document clearly, is one of those cornerstone communication skills needed in life, and something that everyone should hone in and constantly improve.
But if being truly honest, another one of the reasons I started this blog is so I can share the cool projects and things I’m working on. Along with the information I have learned along the way! So this blog site will probably be a whole mess of things.
I’m writing this mostly for myself as a way to document what I’m learning and working on, but if you’re into tech projects, tinkering, or figuring things out as you go, you might enjoy following along.
I plan to write on:
Current projects I’m working on
Past projects I’ve finished
Documentation for my projects
Cool things I’ve learned
My hobbies and interests
Anything else really that comes to mind!
The topics of my blogs will range widely. Whether its my Homelab upgrades and builds, stuff im self-hosting, automation scripts and programs I’ve made, networking and security-related things, write ups and reflections on projects, or just whatever else comes to mind!
When Im documenting something I want to try to follow these steps to help me structure posts so that people and future me can follow along.
These are the steps I plan to follow:
- context → goal → steps → results → next improvements.
Of course, everything is subject to change. Different topics and contexts require different approaches, so I dont want to lock myself too heavily into this workflow since it only works in certain situations.
I’m not planning on writing daily or weekly, just whenever I feel like it. The one thing I don’t want to do is burn myself out and make this into a “chore” Just like it felt back in the day.
Hopefully this was a decent enough first post lol. Don’t judge me too hard on my grammar and writing style! I’m still learning and trying to get better!
